Hazel Mak is an Award winning (Best Emerging Act; Malawi Achievers Awards 2014) recording artist from Malawi ‘The Warm Heart Of Africa’ deemed ‘Malawi Gold’ as described by The Nation (MW) she is known for her sensual vocals, catchy Afro-Soul, R&B songs that represent the modern African empowered woman.
To date she has a repertoire of numerous projects with international and national artist, sharing stages with the likes of Tinie Tempa, Tuface, Hip Hop Pantsula, Blasto, The Very Best, Oliver Mtukudzi, Taye Grin, Lucius Band and Sauti Sol.
It is with great pleasure to announce the official Video release of “Liyaya” a song from her third studio project ‘Nkosini’.
The track was produce by renowned producer and artist Chuka Royalty, it is has a timeless fusion of Afro beat and South African house rhythms.
The visuals that accompany the song were shot in various locations in Malawi by Joy Williams of Media Koncept that whom has worked with the likes of Vibes Squad, Randy Valentine, Dola Bilz, Dominant 1 and Theo Thomson.
‘I wanted the video to represent Malawi…I did not want it to be glossy and unrealistic plus I have always wanted to cycle a Kabaza. The track Liyaya will always be my break through track and due to high demand for the song to be released officially I thought not having accompanying visuals would do the track a huge injustice! ‘Liyaya’ marks the new beginning for me if you think this track is good wait until you hear the rest of the project.’
